Program Summary

KBR provides full-spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Our robust supply chain ensures on-time delivery of mission-critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The KBR team is over 1,000 people strong, providing not only life support services such as water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and an award-winning dining facility.

Job Summary

The Clubs and Activities Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of all Club and Food & Beverage operations under the MWR program. This role ensures operations are executed in compliance with applicable regulations, directives, and policies. The Manager is accountable for delivering high-quality service, optimizing revenue, maintaining sanitary standards, managing budgets, and developing personnel in support of mission objectives and customer satisfaction. Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in club or food & beverage management, preferably as an NF-4 level or equivalent civilian role. Experience with FOODTRAK system is preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of MWR clubs and food & beverage services.
  • Ensure availability or designate an alternate to respond to emergencies or operational issues within one hour.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, service standards, sanitation, and cost control.
  • Oversee staffing plans and personnel scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage across venues.
  • Train, mentor, and coach staff to improve performance and support career growth.
  • Review budgets and financial transactions to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Implement marketing and promotional strategies to enhance revenue.
  • Evaluate procedures and implement corrective actions to improve service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Supervise planning and execution of special events requiring food and beverage services.
  • Plan menus and coordinate related food service activities with relevant staff.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper stock levels.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Conduct and attend meetings, training, and other work-related activities as required.
  • Apply progressive discipline and coach staff as needed to uphold operational standards.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, unless otherwise approved by the Government.
  • Deep understanding of club management and food & beverage operational standards.
  • Familiarity with military club protocols, including patron entitlements, inspections, and scheduling.
  • Ability to prepare operational reports and perform budget monitoring.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing solutions.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Ability to speak English fluently and clearly.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to pass overseas medical screening.

Education:
  • The Clubs and Activities Manager shall have a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major study in business management in one or more areas of an appropriate field of food and hospitality management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Training or Certificates:
  • SERV Safe Food Protection Manager

Experience:
  • Preferably experience with FOOD-TRAK system.
