JOB REQUIREMENTS
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work from the directions of the supervisor to move Wind Tower sections, set up and operate the sub arc welder, Follow and complete daily build schedule.
- Weld, grind, and repair each Wind Tower section prior to presenting it to the Quality Inspectors.
- This person will also repair all weld defects as directed by the Quality Inspectors.
- Perform most of the work individually. Essential tools and welding equipment will be provided; however, accountability and maintenance will be the employee's responsibility.
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors.
- Embrace culture of Lean Manufacturing and the implementation of change.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean & organized work area.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs intermediate and precision welding techniques.
- Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs.
- Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ yrs experience with sub-arc welding is required.
- Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing setting.
- 5-10 yrs experience in a combination of two or more skilled trades including knowledge of and ability to use tools materials and methods.
- Must have experience with SAW, as well as other welding processes like FCAW and SMAW.
- Current welding certifications (Recently expired certifications may be acceptable contingent upon the ability to successfully requalify prior to employment).
- OSHA 10-hour safety course would be a plus.
- Computer skills preferred - Microsoft Office experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
- Must be able to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
- Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status.
- Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.
- Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
- Factory environment with large range in temperature changes.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend/stoop, push/pull and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily.
