Job Description: Associate Photographer
Project: Majnoon
Employment Type: Long Term Contract
Location: Basra, Iraq. 28/28 rotation
Core Responsibilities at Majnoon:
- Images: Taking high-quality photographs on site (Majnoon Oil Field Iraq) and in office locations around Iraq and possibly further afield. The people shots are to show KBR at its best - at work, in groups (inc with client), collaborating shots, profile images for Linkedin. Also to capture the feel of the team - with celebrations captured through the year...
- Also part of brief will include taking videos, so knowledge of lighting, lenses and sound recording necessary.
- Editing and Retouching: Using software from the Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro (for film editing) enhance, correct, and refining images, ensuring they meet KBR quality standards and client expectations.
- Progress Photography: An important role is the capturing progress on site, this should include timelapse videos. This will involve liaising with management on site and providing images to sales teams and larger KBR communications groups based overseas.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiently using and maintaining a range of photographic equipment, including DSLR Sony cameras, lenses, lighting, and other accessories. Use of drones a plus.
- Creative Vision: Developing creative concepts for photoshoots, inc directing subjects, selecting locations, and arranging props and lighting. The ability to put the work into powerpoint and present also a requirement along with some design flare. Possible production of posters an asset - whilst staying within KBR guidelines.
Essential Skills for the Role:
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in photography equipment, software (like Photoshop and film editing PP), and various shooting techniques.
- Aesthetic Sense: A keen eye for composition, lighting, colour, and design, allowing for the creation of visually appealing and impactful images.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, track deadlines, and maintain organized archives of photographic images.
Additionally
- Working on site in Majnoon requires individual to work in a harsh environment, dusty and very hot, so looking after equipment essential and keeping a cool head with HSE in mind. Having ability to work with over 40 nationalities on site important. Basically a "can-do" attitude is essential for this role, where you will be asked to work without supervision for periods of time.
