Introduction

Join our dynamic team as a Commercial HVAC Helper, where you will play a vital role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, enhancing your skills and knowledge in a collaborative and supportive environment.

General Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Prepare and clean work areas before and after HVAC installations and repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform basic diagnostic tests to identify issues with HVAC systems under supervision.
• Help in assembling and installing ductwork and other HVAC components.
• Maintain inventory of tools and materials and report shortages to supervisors.
• Assist in the documentation and recording of maintenance and repair activities.
• Support in the removal and disposal of old HVAC equipment and materials.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status and tasks.
• Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in HVAC operations.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical skills.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• EPA Certification (preferred, not required)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and components
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and take directions from experienced technicians
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
• Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends
• Basic proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
