Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
Manages teams directly or indirectly who ensure the prompt and efficient execution of field orders related to emergency response, establishment of gas service, response to customer-generated field requests related to gas appliances, and Company equipment compliance and maintenance work for PG&E facilities. Oversees field services and locate & mark work in a defined geographic region. Provides safe gas services while maintaining compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. Promotes safety leadership and a safety culture among all employees for themselves, customers, and the general public.
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 122,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 194,000.00

Job Responsibilities
- Ensures work group safely and efficiently completes customer requests that are received.
- Manages emergency response to service requests and equipment maintenance, ensuring employees respond in a timely manner and provide quality service.
- Ensures consistency and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Anticipates, identifies and mitigates potential customer issues before they escalate into a significant problem.
- Engages employees in process improvements and takes action on their feedback.
- Manages a team of union-represented employees.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License or equivalent on day one of hire
- 5 years of operational experience
- Subject to random DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Travel within PG&E's service territory is required
Desired:
- BA/BS degree
- Experience leading union-represented employees.
- Experience serving and meeting the needs of internal and/or external customers.
- Experience in gas or electric service or construction.
