This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

This role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for:

• Engineering Development & Technical Contribution: Apply standard techniques for engineering assignments, handling testing, installation, commissioning, and documentation within project scope.
• Sales Support & Proposal Preparation: Assist in developing proposals/presentations for engineering projects, including bill of materials, estimated engineering hours, and overall technical feasibility.
• Contract Management & Change Control: Support contract managers in handling changes related to scope, cost, timelines, and risk assessment, ensuring seamless project execution.
• Planning, Control & Risk Management: Develop work plans and cost estimates, ensure quality deliverables within budget and schedule, and conduct risk assessments to optimize project effectiveness.
• Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide technical assistance to customers, interact with stakeholders, contractors, and teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supply Chain & Vendor Management: Collaborate with the supply chain function to define technical requirements, evaluate supplier proposals, and approve equipment/services for project needs.
• Technical Leadership & Process Improvement: Share engineering best practices across projects, ensure compliance with safety and contractual regulations, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum 12+ years of experience in engineering and commissioning of Power Management Systems (PMS), covering primary equipment monitoring, control, load shedding, load sharing, and synchronization.
• Experience in software development, testing, and debugging, with proficiency in Python, C++, and Object-Oriented Programming.
• Hands-on experience in designing substation network architecture and control system philosophy for process/power plants and Expertise in software and hardware design, testing, and implementation with various Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

• Working knowledge of utility communication protocols like IEC61850, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101/104, TCP/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Fieldbus, SPA.
• Understanding of OT/IT convergence and cybersecurity considerations for industrial automation sys- tems.
• Experience in configuring controllers, protocol gateways, and data concentrators across different communication protocols.
• Expertise in developing HMI graphics/logics related to equipment monitoring, load management, and synchronization.
• Familiarity with producing engineering documents from pre-design to system testing (FAT & IFAT).
• Experience in multi-vendor IED engineering and commissioning in electrical protection relay applica- tions.
• Exposure to renewable energy projects or studies is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently or under supervision, with a willingness to travel nationally and interna-tionally (30-50% travel required) and should have Valid international passport required.
• Engineering graduate with experience in providing technical solutions and project management.
