Responsible for reviewing, assessment, commentary and design approval of master plan design deliverables during all master plan stages (Vision - PCMP - Framework - CMP - DMP).
Liaison with Authorities as necessary to ensure approvals are expedited.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Development of RFPs, brief, design strategy on master plan projects.
- Development of land use dataset with design understanding of various land use products, all type of traffic network and circulation, types of open spaces and current real estate development trends and product updates.
- Understanding land use and products with non-revenue versus revenue generation potential.
- Internal team liaison to ensure coordination between all disciplines relevant to master planning (feasibility, architecture, infra-structure, delivery).
- Manage in house design team as instructed by the relevant director and deliver internal master plan feasibility projects in line with management expectations.
- Review masterplan deliverables during all master plan stages and familiar with DMT (Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transportation) planning requirement (Vision - PCMP - Framework - CMP - DMP).
- Liaise with relevant Modon internal departments as required; procurement, feasibility, marketing & sales and undertake internal test fit design and planning in coordination with other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with consultants to:
- Review the analysis of land use projects to determine the split between various sectors such as residential commercial industrial and community use and recommend changes.
- Review masterplan deliverables during all master plan stages and familiar with DMT (Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transportation) planning requirement (Vision/PCMP/Framework/CMP/DMP Review consultant submissions to ensure alignment with project brief specification.
- Ensure compliance with all DMT and relevant stakeholders' requirements.
- Provide regular design review and guidance.
- Present developed masterplans to Modon Senior Management & Abu Dhabi leadership as necessary.
Qualifications and education requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, Master Planning and/or Urban Design.
- Master's degree in urban design and/or.
- Master's degree in landscape architecture (Optional).
Preferred skills and competencies:
- 15 to 18 years of experience master planning and/or real estate master planning across asset classes in consultancy, and medium to large developers.
- Experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams including members from Business.
- Planning, Master Planning, Architectural Design, Infrastructure, Engineering, Transportation, Project Management, Procurement and Commercial functions.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of master planning design from visioning stage, through idea generation to concept and detailed master planning stages.
- Understanding complexities of land use and potential revenue generating versus non-revenue generating products and assets.
- Proficiency with Urban Design and Master Planning best practices and latest trends.
- Excellent time and design management skills.
- Proficiency with master plan and urban design vision-level design thinking, communication and sketching (hand sketch, digital sketch and CAD).
- Proficiecy preparing master plan and urban design diagrams (Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator etc.).
- Experience in report writing and preparation (Adobe Indesign, Word, Powerpoint etc.).
- Experience interfaing with landscape architecture/ public realm visioning and concepts (hand sketch, adobe photoshop).
