Your tasks and responsibilities
- Develop the airframe architecture of a new generation amphibious firefighter aircraft
- Investigate the panorama of existing similar aircraft to understand the different technical solutions in order to define the best structural architecture
- Perform trade offs among different structural solutions applying a Design to Value approach
- You will create an Airframe Architecture Dossier, a document showing the selection of design solutions and their rationale
- You will focus on the Structural Architecture selecting the best concept for each component
- You will focus on the fuselage and you will define its architecture
- You will minimize cost and weight, maximise manufacturability ensuring that the aircraft can be repaired quickly.
- You will develop 3D CATIA models of the Aircraft and preliminary sizing of some relevant components.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Enrolled full-time student in the area of Aerospace Engineering with focus on Aeronautical Structures (light weight) - up to five years engineering course (end of Master study)
- Fluent in English is a must, German and French is a plus
- You are able to use CATIA 5 (nice to have)
- Ability to perform preliminary sizing of loaded structures (nice to have)
- You have good skills to use OFFICE tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) or Google based Tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- You are a team player and a motivated master student to collaborate with
