Wood is recruiting for a core LOLER Focal Point on the Harbour Judy. This mobilises from Aberdeen on a 2*2*2*4 rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Purpose of Job:

• To carry out Lifting Operations on site in accordance with the Client's Standard for Lifting Operations

Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibilities:

• Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the Client's HS&E policy, procedures and Safety Management System
• Comply with all relevant Wood HS&E policies and procedures where appropriate
• Actively participate and support all Client and Wood Health, Safety & Environmental plans, initiatives and improvements
• Carry out all activities in accordance with ISSOW including the following:
• Comprehensive and detailed Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks
• Stop and re-asses any job where change is identified
• Work preparation
• Report all accidents and incidents
• Carry out Emergency Response duties in accordance with Client's requirements

Main Duties:

• Accountable to ensure all hoisting and lifting activities are carried out to the agreed LOLER Scheme of Compliance.

1. To review and approve all lifting operations, lifting plans and risk assessments.
2. Responsible for ensuring all personnel involved in lifting operations meet the minimum competence standards.
3. Carry out audits on lifting operations to ensure compliance.
4. Liaise with Onshore Support and appropriate offshore departments for effective planning of Lifting Operations ensuring approvals in place where required.

• Accountable for the management of rigging loft, hoisting and lifting equipment and certification control.
• Responsible to ensure all activities prioritised by supervisor are carried out as per instruction
• Provide and approve all lift plans and provide adequate supervision when required
• Assist 3rd Party contractors complete their thorough examination of hoisting and lifting equipment.
• Carry out regular rigging worksite visits to monitor and promote productive and safe working practices.
• Accountable for maintaining an end of trip written handover as per agreed format
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
• Support daily and weekly planning process as required
• When applicable, carry-out a sufficient handover to delegated Nightshift Loler Supervisor
• Responsible for ensuring platform rigging assessments carried as per competency framework
• Carry out emergency response duties where necessary
• Accountable for relevant safety critical activities as detailed in the Activity Catalogue.

• OPITO Banksman Slinger Competence Assessment
• OPITO Rigger Competence Assessment

Diploma in Moving Engineering Construction Loads at SCQF Level 6 (acceptable equivalent is Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment RQF Level 3) and / or ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads / OPITO LOLER Competent Person
