Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective (business area/division/product group) sales strategy within the specified market scope (global/regional) and maintain it, to improve ABB's market penetration and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance. The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid, Onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solution Business to be based at Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will be mainly accountable for: • Driving order intake and individual business line performance, with full accountability for year-over-year (YOY) revenue growth and aggressive expansion across all product and solution segments. • Developing and executing strategic sales plans, including customer account management, pipeline development, an alignment with company growth objectives. • Leading and coaching a high-performing sales team, fostering talent development, performance management, and a culture of continuous improvement. • Champion ABB's value proposition, delivering solution-based selling and maintaining strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and ecosystem collaboration across the value chain. • Engaging with key external stakeholders, such as consultant, statutory boards, and industry bodies, to influence market direction and segment development. • Promoting a sustainable sales growth environment, embedding structured processes, digital tools, and long-term business planning.

Qualifications for the role
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a technical discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous but not essential.
- Brings 10+ years of progressive experience in sales or channel management, including leadership of sales teams and engagement with strategic customers in electrical distribution or related industries.
- Demonstrated sales leadership with a proven track record of exceeding targets in the electrical distribution or medium-voltage (MV) switchgear sector.
- Consistently achieved and surpassed sales goals, driving significant business growth through strategic execution and customer engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of MV switchgear solutions, including AIS, GIS RMUs, CSS, and protection relays, is a strong asset.
- Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, with strong negotiation skills, digital fluency, and a passion for innovation and challenging conventional approaches.
- An effective communicator and influencer, capable of engaging stakeholders across all organizational levels and within multicultural environments.
- A people-centric leader with a focus on team development, collaboration, and fostering a high-performance sales culture.
