Pre-employment drug testing will be required. As a condition of employment, a release form (ALCDRG-01) and a background statement (ALCDRG-06) must be completed and signed allowing the NCDOT to check with previous employers for the past two years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Driller in our Asheville Office.
In this position you will:
- Serve as a member of a two-person subsurface investigation team.
- Mobilize and operate rotary drilling rig to perform geotechnical testing and gather soil and rock samples.
- Communicate subsurface conditions and changes to the attending Geologist or Engineer.
- Perform light equipment maintenance.
- Notify Supervisor for scheduling and delivery of equipment to maintenance shops for preventive maintenance and major repairs.
