Americas Service Sales Manager - Ports Service Manager, Canada

Your role and responsibilities

This position is ideally suited for a self-driven project manager with a strong technical focus. The successful candidate will take ownership of all operational aspects within the Ports Service unit. Reporting to the Ports Service Manager, Marine, you will be a critical pillar in our small and dynamic team. Reporting to the Service Manager, Marine, you will be a critical pillar in our small and dynamic team. • Lead the execution of small to medium-size service projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. • Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status. Identifies, and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. • Runs the day-to-day Service execution of sales orders to ensure profitable growth and improvement of Service productivity. Ensures consistency in quality and customer satisfaction. • Enforces a Service safety and integrity culture throughout the Service organization. • Builds sustainable customer relationships to ensure local client growth, satisfaction and retention together with Sales. • Supports Sales resources in business development phase, tender preparation and customer meetings. Drive Service growth. • Occasionally supports as FSE Field Service Engineering Representative executing maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and resolving the customers' operational problems and optimizing the performance of their equipment.

Qualifications for the role

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Available to travel >20% time.
  • Bachelors' degree and 8 years' industry experience.
  • High level of technical know-how in Ports Marine service industry, preferably marine drives and automation systems, AC and DC power systems.
  • Knowledge of port operations and equipment preferred.
  • Customer Focused.
  • Ability to self-learn and operate autonomously.
  • Manage ABB's internal tools.
  • Thrives in a small, fast-paced team with flat organizational structure.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Is resourceful and can pro-actively seek out information needed to complete tasks and activities.
  • Committed to continuous learning / profession development and keen to undertake new and challenging projects.
  • Is detail oriented in their work.
  • Works in accordance with ABB procedures using applicable tools during the proposal process.
