JOB DESCRIPTION

Ready to work for an industry leader? Wood is recruiting a Commissioning Manager for Onshore - Power Plant. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving ability. Excellent communication skills and team-oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations Teams. A detailed working knowledge of power plant (single and combined cycle), onshore oil and gas process, onshore facilities, chemical plants and refinery processes is required including: HRSG's, power generation and distribution, control and safety systems, oil and gas separation, turbine driven gas compression, rotating equipment, utility support and lifesaving systems. Candidate will be responsible for the overall safety of the commissioning team and should be familiar with construction and commissioning safety processes including Permit To Work, Lock-Out/ Tag-Out, Company Safety Program and safety audits.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

The Role Commissioning Manager will have full responsibility to direct and execute commissioning activities and execution plan for a large-scale power plant and CCS facility, and for implementing Wood's/Clients Safety Policies and Procedures throughout the commissioning phases of the project.

Present clear and concise communications (e.g. e-mails, reports, presentations) to onshore team(s), service partners and internal customers so you will understand what people need from you, and so people understand what you need from them. Understand when to communicate verbally or in writing (or both together) to ensure expectations are clearly communicated. Use a range of communication styles to be impactful.

Teamwork Interact effectively with all stakeholders associated with the project. Work within and between teams knowledgeably and capably. Model ideal team behaviour. RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparing Commissioning philosophy, schedule and procedures during project Detailed Design phase
  • Responsible for the commissioning and start-up all systems, completing the commissioning work-scope in a logical and controlled sequence and to the project specifications
  • Responsible for day-to-day commissioning activities during all phases of the project. Execute Commissioning Procedures directing a Commissioning Team consisting of commissioning coordinators, leads, technicians, Operations personnel, other contractors, and vendor support personnel
  • Support system handover and acceptance from Construction Team and to Operations Team; including system discipline walk downs and punch list generation
  • Report to the Project Manager/Client on issues regarding commissioning, start-up schedule and progress
  • Interface with client management regarding commissioning and start-up
  • Ensure all commissioning resources are being utilized in a cost-effective manner
  • Define system priority hand over list from Construction to Commissioning and from Commissioning to Operations
  • Will direct or assist in developing Project Manpower Estimates and System Commissioning Schedules
  • Develop and maintain commissioning budget
  • Develop and review commissioning test equipment and material take-offs for project execution
  • Develop vendor call-out requirements and schedule for specialized vendor supplied equipment and overall vendor coordination
  • Support Completions/Handover Lead in preparing systems for final inspection and hand over to Operations Team after commissioning procedures are complete
  • Provide assistance in evaluation and selection of Commissioning Team staff members. Declare and assign roles and responsibilities for Commissioning team members
  • Need proficiency in MS Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested


QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Engineering or relevant experience Power Distribution/High voltage systems, Oil and Gas production/Energy or Chemical Process Facilities. Equivalent industry certifications and experience will be considered.
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Proven knowledge of gas/LNG production process, Inlet Facilities, Acid Gas Removal Dehydration, Compression and Liquefaction, Gas/LNG production systems, and plants
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in O&G industry, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in LNG plant operations
  • Managerial/Supervisory experience in commissioning and start-up of major LNG plant
  • Experience with CMMS tools
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or instrumental maintenance disciplines
  • Operations/Maintenance knowledge on safety protection systems of gas/LNG plants and process safety management systems
  • Experience in loading/unloading & shipping/marine systems and operations for LNG, as well as other products of LNG plants

Preferred:
  • 20+ Years Power Plants, O&G, chemical/refinery process facilities project experience with Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up and Operations experience, particularly Commissioning and Start-up experience of large capital projects, multi-discipline scopes for different types of facilities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Employee must be able to see and read reports
  • Employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hand and fingers, and reach with hands and arms
  • Employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employee must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers. Field Employees must be able to pass an audiometric test
  • Employee must be able to safely traverse stairs
  • Employee must be able to pass a medical "Fit for Duty" physical and drug screen
  • If assigned Offshore, employee must be able to pass HUET/METS

Work Environment
  • The noise level in this environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud (86+ decibels).
  • Employee must determine when hearing protection is necessary
