Wood is recruiting for a Static Maintenance Technician to join its Iraq business unit focusing on installation, inspection, repair of Mechanical equipment for hazardous (classified) areas for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 5/2 work schedule.

This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Job Objectives

• Experience in Preventative Mechanical Maintenance
• installation, inspection, repair of Mechanical equipment for hazardous (classified) areas.
• Effective communicator - can understand and speak good level of English.
• Knowledge of oil and gas best practice safety and control of work processes
• Manage Mechanical l safety, use and application of Mechanical safety rules,
• identification and mitigation of hazards in operation.
• Identify and control the hazards associated with operation, maintenance and testing of Mechanical equipment
• apply or modify the Mechanical system operating philosophy
• Interpret and apply the information contained in the various types of Mechanical drawings.
• Apply Run and Maintain strategies for LV equipment (e.g., motors, lighting, heat tracing, switchgear, small transformers, UPS and batteries, generators)
• Apply Run and Maintain strategies for HV equipment (e.g., motors, transformers, switchgear)
• Issue weekly, monthly, and yearly reports detailing maintenance activities , and equipment reliability analysis.
• Management, reset and Re-sitting of Mechanical protection activities and protection relays
• Minimum Experience / Minimum 2yrs Static Mechanical Maintenance
• Professional Skills / Experience in Maintenance of static equipment such as heat exchangers, replacing filters, opening the strainer, replaced valves, connecting flanges, and knowing all types of piping, flange & gasket and stud bolt

Expected:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Equivalent e.g. graduate of an institute.
