Within Wood Abu Dhabi, we are actively expanding our project delivery portfolio to include Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Contracts.
As part of this growth, we are looking for personnel to join our team, either from internal Wood employees or the external market.

Job Objective:
The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety Critical Projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote Wellhead Towers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.
Typical projects include Fire & Gas System Upgrades, Power Upgrades, Control System Upgrades, Flare System Upgrades and Platform Structural Modifications.
Effective overall delivery of execution delivery on an assigned asset, which could be a production Complex or a number of Wellhead Towers. This encompasses both Construction and Commissioning activities as well as the movement of accommodation barges, utilisation of workboats, and receipt of materials etc.
Prioritizes work activities across all contractors and ensures management team are in place and organized to provide efficient execution of the work.
Key interface with Client Operations team, attending Work Planning / Approval Sessions and communicating outcome to Contractor management team.
Ensures Construction Execution Planning and delivery of the portfolio of project scopes across their assigned asset is performed to drive efficient management of Construction Contractors workforce to deliver projects safely, to the required standards within budget and schedule.
Provide certainty and confidence to the Client and Wood Project Sponsor, that the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus on optimization, cost control, risk management, schedule adherence and stakeholder management.

- Ambitious people that want to grow their career within this exciting contract execution model, where they will gain experience across the full project lifecycle from Detailed Engineering, through Procurement & Fabrication and into the Offshore Execution, covering Construction, Commissioning, Start -up and Handover to Operations.
- Experienced personnel with a background in PMC, EPC or EPCM projects, that can take on senior positions within the organisation and use their experience to steer the team to deliver outstanding performance across a portfolio of projects for Major Operators.

- Onshore Pipeline Controls System Upgrades
- Offshore Aset enhancement projects covering multiple system and equipment on large platforms, Wellhead Towers and Islands

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution
- Managing & overseeing the day-to-day construction and commissioning activities.
- Coordinating & reviewing the deliverables with PMs on various stage gates from detailed design to MC completion and handover in multiple or subset projects.
- Ensuring Construction Contractors' compliance with all applicable statutory regulations and Client requirements.
- Input to development of Construction & Commissioning Execution Plans to maximize efficiencies and ensure best practices are included.
- Obtain alignment with all stakeholders on Construction & Commissioning Execution Plans and initiate actions to drive success.
- Senior representative at Work Planning Sessions with Client team.
- Engagement with Client Operations team to ensure work proceeds without delays and no impact to ongoing production operations.
- Engagement with Client Marine / Logistics/ Operations Departments to ensure safe and efficient
- planning and movement of marine spread within the oilfield.
- Responsible site safety, quality and compliance with the permit to work system.
- Engagement in SIMOP's and other key work planning sessions.
- Establish priorities and intervene to resolve areas of conflict.
- Provide effective management of Construction Contractors to deliver projects safely, to the required standards within budget and schedule.
- Provide effective management of specialist Contractors and Vendors for offshore activities.
- Ensure Contractors have required material and equipment on sit to meet schedule requirements.
- Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any take actions as required.
- Provide leadership and management to ensure safe, cost effective and timely resolution of all interfaces.
Leadership
- Senior Wood Person on the Asset with authority to manage the execution of the work.
- Guides and directs project team including external specialists and construction contractor, working in multiple offices and sites.
- Is an advocate and role model for ethical behaviour and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Coaches, mentors, and empowers others to make decisions within established parameters
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
- Project Director / Snr Project Manager
- Project Management Team including Engineering Manager, Project Engineers, Supply Chain Manager, Project Controls Manager, HSE Manager, Quality Manager, Construction Manager and , Commissioning Manager.
External:
- Senior person on the asset for the client in all aspects of Execution Delivery.
- Creates strong relationships with key stakeholders including Clients Offshore Operations Team.
- Manages relationships with Construction Contractors and specialist subcontractors.
LEVEL OF INFLUENCE & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
- Work is performed under limited direction and is reviewed for conformance with policies and general efficiency.
- Actions and decisions typically have a significant influence on the medium-term operational and financial results of a project and some influence on the longer-term results.
- Engages with Project Director and Senior Project Manager to ensure key issues are addressed and any controversial matters with potentially far-reaching implications are addressed expediently.
- Solves problems requiring an understanding of financial, commercial, social and political implications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
- B.S. or equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Advanced degree in construction management is highly desirable.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum twenty (20) years relevant experience in the oil & gas industry including offshore Brownfield projects., including at least five (5) years in similar position.
Role-Specific Skills/ Experience:
- Demonstrable ability to manage Construction Contractors on offshore Brownfield Oil & Gas projects for major Oil & Gas companies.
- Experience of managing offshore projects containing marine spreads and materials movement and logistics as part of the scope.
- Specific experience in the Middle East for renowned clients, preferred.
- Personality, ability, and experience to drive, manage, direct, and guide the team to achieve project objectives.
- Thorough understanding of latest construction methods, modern project management techniques and environmental engineering aspects of construction execution. High level of professional competence and management skills to motivate the team to achieve high quality performance during the execution of the portfolio of projects.
- Thorough knowledge of project success and benefits management.
- Demonstrable ability to drive cash flow management and projection/forecast of cost at completion.
- Demonstrable experience in coordinating packages, constructability reviews, site plan management and construction progress measurement and tracking.
- Experienced in developing schedules and cost estimates for standard projects.
- Good knowledge of industry and company risk management processes.
- Experience of implementing successful project performance improvement activities and techniques for recovering poor performance.
- Understands the needs of information management requirements in the project phases (operation), internal (contractual, statutory) and asset (customer) documentation.
- Well versed in international and company quality assurance standards
- Robust knowledge of all handover and close-out activities required for customer, company, and suppliers.
