Your role and responsibilities

Legal Counsel is accountable and responsible for supporting legal and integrity matters for ABB Electrification Business Area in China. Main Accountabilities: The Legal Counsel will • Provide legal support in China in connection to Electrification Business. • Formulate improvement and development of legal processes, due diligence and legal productivity, simplicity and standardization, reflecting the country specific requirements. • Independently draft, review, revise, negotiate and provide risk assessment on contracts, projects or deals in line with ABB internal risk control guidelines and applicable local laws. • Managing and coordinating litigation and arbitration and disputes in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders. • Support legal entities corporate governance matters. • Support ABB Integrity program and support Integrity initiatives in close collaboration with the integrity team. • Providing internal training on contractual and integrity topics.

Qualifications for the role

• Qualifications/Requirements
• Master of Law from a reputable law school and admission to China Bar.
• Minimum 10 years legal experience or equivalent in a recognized law firm or multinational company.
• Substantial "hands-on" experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong ability in handling and managing complex litigation, arbitration and disputes.
• Strong command on corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in implementing and monitoring integrity and compliance program in China is preferred.
• Fluent in English.

• "Hands-on" business partner attitude with solution-oriented mindset under proper risk control.
• Demonstrable leadership experience, in particular coordinating with cross-functional and cross-country teams in complex transactions.
• Superior advocacy and communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally (in both Chinese and English), an aptitude for practical negotiation, the capability to think logically and quickly and keep calm under pressure, the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates.
• The highest integrity and professionalism, and passion for excellence and quality.
• Stakeholders management and superior negotiating skills and ability to work in complex international environment, substantial experience working in different cultures and an open mind which champions diversity and inclusion.
