Wood is currently recruiting for an Offshore Field Safety Advisor based Offshore in Bass Strait on a 2-week rotational roster.OBJECTIVE
Reporting direct to the Offshore Maintenance Supervisor the Offshore Field Safety Advisor is responsible to oversee, advise, coach and influence the OFS team in safety whilst providing a focal point for guidance and safety leadership to further enhance our Safety Culture to deliver our safety Must Win, "Eliminating Serious and Life Altering Injuries whilst delivering industry leading safety performance"
This includes being a champion of safety improvement to our work practices, processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- 80% of role is to provide field support and cold eyes to our OFS team including:
- permit reviews
- checking in with work teams
- supporting Supervisors and teams to resolve / work to closure safety issues, concerns and problems
- reinforcing and recognizing positive behaviours
- identifying trends and patterns
- addressing / safe parking any immediate safety risks
- validating how work is occurring in the field, with a focus on jobs involving the performance of Life Saving Actions (LSAs), and
- ensuring we learn from near misses and incidents in the way we are executing work in the field (not just those that occur OFS, but from other sites across Australia and globally, industry learnings and other learnings)
- Lead the execution of the Safety Observation Program OFS including recognizing what good looks like (OFS Catch of the Week), immediately support teams / Supervisors to address urgent hazards identified in the field, ensuring closure / resolution of issues, reinforcing positive behaviours
- Support field Supervisors to prepare engaging Safety meetings and support facilitation of those meetings
- Support the development and execution of the OFS High Consequence enhanced drills, including developing drill schedules and assisting with facilitation of OFS drills.
- Support the execution of the Gippsland Safety Plan OFS, including championing initiatives in the field such as the roll out of Human Performance Principles (HPP)
- Support the HSR Committee Chair to champion the OFS HSR Committee and meetings. Support the coordination of the meeting including building agendas and topics of interest, bringing safety learnings and examples of great safety behaviours to each meeting and proactively work to resolve / work to closure issues and actions
- Support Supervisors to execute the "Green Card" site induction. Retain records of completed inductions and periodically check to ensure no gaps
- Site Sponsor of the Short Service Worker (SSW) Program. Support Supervisors to ensure they are executing the SSW OFS program, periodically checking to ensure no gaps, assist with the Esso sign off for team members transitioning from green hat to white hat
- Periodical involvement in care management and investigations as required. If any team members are hurt, ensure they get the best care possible following our Care Management Guideline. Lead or participate in investigations to ensure we learn as much as possible for near misses or incidents
- OIMS systems validations - permits, JSA, permit audits, vehicle audits, hose audits (~4 per month)
- Assist in the use of IMPACT incident database and IMPACT entries as required.
- Continuously look for opportunities to make things easier, innovate or improve our safety performance
- Assist OFS Safety Coordinator with the Supervisors crew change pack and delivery from a SSHE perspective
QUALIFICATIONS
What We're Looking For
- 5 years minimum Occupational health and Safety in Industrial Services environment
- Previous experience in a similar hands-on field capacity
- Previous site-based experience is highly desirable
- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
- Demonstrates technical expertise and the ability to influence and challenge others to behave in ways consistent with the interest of the organisation
- Identifies the primary task in each team situation and maintains clear focus to achieve results. Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors to help teams achieve goals
- Able to understand changing trends and developments, responds to client issues and organisational capabilities and to develop the optimal responses as directed by the HSE Manager and line management
- Previous experience effectively performing post incident care management will be highly regarded
- Previous experience leading and directly generating post incident reports is critical
