As the European Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) you will be responsible to ensure that suppliers provide materials, components, or products that meet the organization's quality standards and compliance requirements. SQEs act as a bridge between the company and its suppliers, working to minimize risks such as defects, delays, and production disruptions. They focus on evaluating and qualifying new suppliers, conducting audits, and resolving quality issues through robust root cause analysis and corrective actions. Additionally, SQEs monitor supplier performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product reliability. By fostering strong supplier relationships and maintaining strict quality standards, they contribute to the organization's operational success and customer satisfaction.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this Role, your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments and ensure compliance with European regulatory requirements (e.g., CE marking, REACH, RoHS).
  • Evaluate new supplier processes and systems to ensure alignment with organizational quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement advanced quality planning tools such as APQP and PPAP during the qualification process.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and regional regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality manuals, procedures, and guidelines for supplier management.
  • Lead supplier reviews to ensure alignment with company strategies and quality targets.
  • Lead escalation processes for critical supplier-related quality issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams to implement immediate solutions.
  • Implement performance improvement plans for underperforming suppliers and track progress regularly.
  • Conduct periodic supplier reviews to assess their alignment with evolving business and quality requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Provide detailed reporting to collaborators on supplier quality metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Support suppliers in adopting Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance production processes and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Lead workshops and supplier forums to share standard methodologies and align on future quality expectations.
  • Coordinate and perform regular on-site visits to key suppliers across Europe to strengthen partnerships and ensure compliance.
  • Provide hands-on support for new product development (NPD) to ensure smooth integration of supplier components.
  • Support European regional teams by providing guidance on supplier risk and quality challenges.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A higher-level qualification is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a supplier quality, manufacturing, or related role, preferably in a European supply chain environment.
  • Experience in interpretation of the technical drawings, geometrical dimensions and tolerances;
  • Proficient in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (Quality Systems & Tools (PPAP, APQP, ISO9001, TS16949 & Similar), Auditor certificate
  • Availability to travel abroad - up to 30% of the working time to visit suppliers.
  • Six Sigma/Lean skills
