What will you be doing?
Subsea7 is looking for a highly skilled Regional Finance Director to join the UK & Global IRM (UKGIRM) team on a full-time, permanent basis located out of the Westhill, Aberdeen office.
Responsible for optimising and sustaining Regional financial performance. The Regional Finance Director (RFD) establishes strategies that will maximise profits, minimise working capital, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate and meaningful reports on financial performance and prospects and improve current practices to optimise efficiency.
The RFD is accountable for planning, coordinating, and delivering all finance activities across all projects and countries within UKGIRM.
The role sits on both the Regional Management Team and the Global Finance Management Team.

This will be a highly varied role but some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Personify and uphold all Subsea7 culture and values, including developing and building a positive HSEQ culture.
- Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure the Regional financial targets are reached
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, supervision and mentoring to the regional finance and cost control team
- Plan, organise, develop, and continuously improve regional processes in accordance with global ways of working. Enforce all the relevant policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management and control of the region.
- Ensure the efficient, timely, accurate, cost-effective management and delivery of the Finance and Cost Control function activities within the region
- Assess, manage, and minimise regional financial exposures related to project execution and country operations
- Provide financial support and insights to enable the SVP and Regional Management Team to make critical business decisions
- Provide overview to the monthly financial reports and insightful analysis on performance and position
- Plan, organise, develop, and continuously improve regional processes in accordance with global ways of working
- Develop a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders
- Facilitate the execution of the regional budget and 5 Year Plan by setting clear and realistic priorities for direct reports
- Ensure any prospective capital investment is robustly appraised recognising Group KPI's
- Work, as part of the Regional Management Team, to develop and deliver strategic objectives for the Region
- Oversee the Facilities function within the Region
- Oversee statutory and tax filings in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Maintain full compliance with Anti Bribery laws e.g. SAPIN II, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
- Provide financial input and guidance to regional tenders
- Work with Group Tax to minimise exposure and ensure local compliance requirements are met
- Ensure optimum cash generation and consumption and working capital in coordination with Group Treasury
- Responsible for financial controls and compliance in the Region
- Contribute to risk management, internal controls and continuous improvement
- Provide strategic direction, leadership, and supervision to Regional Joint Ventures
- Oversee collaboration between project cost controllers, finance and other key stakeholders
- Support the professional and career development of the Finance & Cost Control teams
What experience would we like you to have?

- Qualified Accountant with further applicable professional qualifications
- Demonstrable previous experience at a relevant and appropriate level in the onshore or offshore construction or energy business
- Experienced and knowledgeable in dealing with international tax
- Experience of managing joint ventures.
- Proficient in financial forecasting, planning, and reporting skills
- Familiarity with financial and taxation methodologies and principles - knowledge of tax regimes in Brazil, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Canada would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
- A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish relationships across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external, up to the highest levels
- Highly effective in conveying financial information in English to different stakeholder groups, both inside and outside the organisation. Comfortable discussing issues and topics of importance in the correct manner at Senior Management Level.
- Adept at demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity in all situations.
- An effective leader with a positive approach who can engage a team through coaching and mentoring to continuously develop.
