Position Overview
The Solar Designer is an experienced PV designer responsible for the designing of solar installations, ranging in size from 10kW to 10 MW and beyond. The designer is tasked with maximizing efficiencies in the design, budget, and constructability of these solar systems.

Position Overview

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Designing Solar systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Use Microsoft software like Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Will view and edit plans in Adobe and /or Bluebeam.
- Will download Plans, Worksheets and CADs files from File Share websites.
- Will navigate complex CAD file structures from all trades.
- Will read plans, such as Architecture, Structural, Civil, MEP and more.
- Will print plans, small, half scale and full scale. Refill copier and large plotter as needed.
- Will be self-sufficient.
- Will talk to and communicate with Villara Field Supers, Architects, Builders, Construction Managers, City's etc.
Training/Certification
- 1-3 years of residential and commercial solar project design and engineering experience
- A background in Solar PV design or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Proficient in CAD systems and Microsoft Applications
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- CA PE License is a plus
Education
- HS Diploma or Equivalent required
- Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
- Must have AutoCAD Experience
