UNDERGROUND DESIGNER - CONTRACT – SURREY
Our client is looking for an Underground Designer to join their team in Leatherhead, providing support to the Lead Designer on an ongoing project.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Civil and Structural Designer with a formal qualifications
- Minimum experience of 10 years
- Proficient in the use of E3D and be able to provide advice / Guidance to junior designers
- Ability to manage a team of designers located overseas
- Creation of project specific job notes, guides and training material to support consistent deliverables
- Organising schedules and resources within the team to achieve required deliverables to project deadlines
- Breaking project tasks down to drawing level and estimating resources required to complete milestones
- Competence in the use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in identifying priorities and be agile in addressing emerging urgent issues as they arise
- Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Desired:
- Structural Catalogues and Specifications for Smart Plant 3D to add project specific joints, fittings and sections
- Structural Templates for Smart Plant 3D
- Draw Administration, adding project specific backing sheets, symbols, logos and styles
- Creation of regular reports to track weight, MTO, etc. as required
- Skills or interest in programming and customisation using either PML or C#
JOB SCOPE
As a Senior Designer, you will be supporting the lead designer to carry out the following tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, model in E3D and produce composite underground services drawing showing all underground services like drainage, firewater, potable water, cable trenches etc.
- Coordinate, model in E3D and produce drawing showing all paving, access roads, haul roads and service roads etc.
DURATION: Ongoing
LOCATION: The role will be based on 5 days a week in our Client’s Offices in Leatherhead. Hybrid working may be possible with two days remote.
RATE: £50.00 per hourLtd co rate
If the role is Likely to be outside of IR35 the final decision will only be made after a QDOS assessment.
