SUMMARY
Incumbents read water meters on an assigned walking/driving route and records information into the electronic reader; investigate, evaluate, monitor, inspect, test and resolve customer complaints relating to excessive water consumption and utility billing concerns; identify and report water meter equipment problems including damaged, malfunctioning, and tampered with meters/equipment; perform all meter maintenance activities, including service turn ons/turn offs, new meter installation, meter replacement, meter testing, and meter box clean out; and take appropriate actions to resolve issues. Incumbents utilize automation to proactively identify meter-related issues, inform affected party, and work with customer to resolve the issues. Incumbents will have frequent contact with Surprise residents and customers, providing information for job specific and general City topics. Always providing "Industry Leading Customer Service" and understanding the culture of creating/retaining satisfied and happy customers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and one year of utility-related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed on the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
