The key responsibilities of the WA EHS Manager will be to design, develop, implement, and oversee the organization's WA Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and to ensure that all respective World Area, Services and Operations are in compliance with Emerson's requirements and respective local regulations. In addition, the role will be responsible for reviewing continuously the effectiveness of the EHS management systems implemented. The role will also lead Sustainability Plan at all Europe facilities.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Provide Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability expertise and leadership in the development and deployment of evaluations, audits, policies, tools, standards, and best practices. Manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the sites Environmental, Health, Safety, Sustainability and Security programs to mitigate risk, prevent injuries, meet regulatory requirements and protect people, property and the environment, also reducing environmental impact.

• Proactively engage with Management teams at all levels of the Business Unit's to ensure ownership and accountability for EHS improvement and to develop and influence a positive Health & Safety culture within the organization through effective improvement activities meeting Flow Controls, Final Control, Emerson requirements, and local requirement.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining global ESH standards to ensure necessary programs are in place to reduce employee risk and to comply with company ESH and Sustainability requirements.
• Lead the development of WA processes for risk evaluation and mitigation.
• Identify and recommend equipment, process and procedural changes to minimize and/or eliminate workplace hazards.
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of existing and evolving regulations/directives regarding exposure risks and provide direction on current and anticipated requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor specific programs relating to emergency planning and preparedness for the WA.
• Review WA job plans, EHS major projects or services specifications, and high-risk job Safety Analyses (JSA) to ensure that hazards and risks are adequately identified and mitigated prior initiate those tasks.
• Ensure communication regarding safe travel in accordance with Emerson Global Security guidelines.
• Evaluate effectiveness of EHS training programs implemented in the WA by the EHS representatives.
• Lead energy reduction projects, carbon tracking and reduction, and align with Global EHS requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.

Drive compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance.
• Work directly with global leadership throughout the WA to improve knowledge, understanding, and execution of global standards, sustainability, and safety and health best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive EHS inspections, assessments and/or audits for operations, service, facilities, and specific processes in the WA, make recommendations, and provide adequate following and advice for corrective actions to ensure compliance.
• Serve as the WA system administrator for all globally deployed EHS tools such as online SDS management, ESH reporting database such as Velocity, JSA Builder, etc.
• Support ESH local staff in the development of specific ESH training program, according to Local regulations., Final Control and Emerson's corporate requirements for all Emerson Facilities, Services and Operations within WA.
• Lead annual WA management review meetings with leadership team and develop EHS and Sustainability plans, goals and objectives for WA.

Track, analyze and communicate EHS and Sustainability performance through a combination of leading and lagging indicators.
• Analyze performance trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Perform regular analysis of EHS metrics and publish monthly EHS Dashboard results to Regional Leadership Team and other internal interested parties.
• Identify opportunities to integrate new and impactful leading metrics for safety and health performance.
• Serve as the key resource for global utilization and support.
• Facilitate investigations and analysis with local ESH staff for all incidents and Serious/Catastrophic near misses by utilizing root cause analysis methods and communicate them properly according to the business requirements.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
• Higher level education or university background, diploma in Engineering / Safety Science / Occupational Health / Human Resources or related field.
• 10+ years' experience minimum in ESH area.
• Practical knowledge of ESH regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of WA general safety policies and procedures as well as experience in auditing ESH
• Self-starter, quick learner, strong networking & communication skills.
• Effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups and among diverse styles and position levels
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
• Ability to build relationships based on trust and credibility
• Creates strategies that show a clear connection between visions and actions
• Demonstrated communication, leadership and influencing skills
• High level of energy and dedication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills must have the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and culture.
• Fluency in written and spoken English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
Hungarian/German/French language knowledge is a plus
