In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will:

• Manage research and monitoring of relevant laws. Communicate changes in the relevant laws to Emerson Businesses in a timely manner.
• Analyse relevant laws and develop simple practical solutions for Emerson Businesses.
• Draft legal alerts, legal standards, questionnaires, frequently asked questions documents, policies, procedures, training and workshop materials, contract provisions, and other required documents.
• Lead complex anti-corruption, anti-fraud, CTF/AML, etc. third party due diligence cases.
• Resolve complex escalations such as compliance issues in commercial transactions, third party due diligence results, restricted party screenings, etc.
• Provide training, workshops and communications sessions to Emerson personnel on relevant laws.
• Manage government inquiries, audits and investigations.
• Support legal research automation programs.
• Provide subject matter expertise support for other legal practices.
• Support internal audits and investigations.
• Negotiate with customers, suppliers, and any other third parties as required.
• Manage outside counsels.

You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• At least 10 years of in-house or private legal practice.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills sufficient for effective interactions with Emerson senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and competent authorities.
• Understanding of EU restrictive measures, import and export controls. Basic knowledge of equivalent U.S. rules.
• Excellent oral and written English, strong legal writing skills.
• The right to practice law in any country where Emerson has an office.
• Experience in conducting KYC due diligence, audits and internal investigations.
• Experience in conducting trainings.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Experience in industrial automation or other manufacturing companies, experience in industries served by Emerson, experience in business in the Middle East & Africa, as well as proficiency in other languages will be an advantage.
