Wood is currently recruiting for a Crane & Lifting Supervisor to join our team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on a Fly in Fly Out rotational schedule (28 days on / 28 days off).

The Role
The role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of cranes and other lifting equipment on construction sites.
This role involves planning and coordinating lifting operations, inspecting equipment, managing the crane crew, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Coordination: developing and implementing lift plans, coordinating with the crane operator, signalers, and other crew members, and ensuring clear communication throughout the operation
- Equipment Inspection: inspecting the crane, rigging, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order and meet safety standards.
- Load Management: ensuring the load is within the crane's capacity and properly rigged for lifting and monitoring the load during the lift
- Supervision: monitoring the crane operator's actions, providing guidance and instructions, and adjusting as needed to ensure a safe and successful lift

Ideally you will have:
- Prior experience as a crane operator is ideal
- Thorough understanding of crane safety regulations, procedures, and risk assessment
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey instructions and coordinate with the lifting team
- Ability to plan and organize lifting operations efficiently
- A good understanding of crane equipment and its operation
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is beneficial
