We are currently seeking a Instrument Supervisor, reporting directly to I&C Superintendent to join our Precomm & Comm team based in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

About the opportunity we offer:

The Instrument Supervisor is responsible for commissioning activities related to their worksite, ensuring technical integrity for instrumentation and systems activities, and adhering to Safety, Health, and Environment policies.
  • Responsible for the Commissioning activities related to his/her worksite. Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with Safety, Health and Environment policy of the project.
  • Ensure the technical integrity is achieved for instrumentation & systems activities.
  • Liaises with the Subcontractor for the execution of the commissioning activities (in particular instrumentation related).
  • Prepare all the associated documentation for Commissioning activities and follow up in the completion data base.
  • Ensure that the works proceed in conformity with the schedule and report any deviation to the Instrument Commissioning Lead Engineer.
  • Responsible for safety, safe working practices and environment issues in all the areas under their control.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of activities and report progress to the Instrument Commissioning Lead Engineer.
  • Coordinate the activities with Construction Supervisor, Subcontractor, field engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure preparation & execution necessary to other discipline for their own tests as well as the relevant safety precautions organization (work permits, lockout/tag out, etc.).
  • Supervise and coordinate loop checks performed by Subcontractors and verify the works are performed as per established procedures and good industry practices within the required quality level.
  • Coordinate the completion of punch list clearance with Construction and Subcontractor in areas under his control

About you:

We love to hear from you and how you match with this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements:

Qualificactions: Bachelors degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related field). Certifications in related fields (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety, PMP) are a plus.

Language: Technical vocabulary and a very good level of English, with a good level of Spanish being a plus.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years plus in Oil & Gas facility projects / Utilities and LNG Commissioning Start-up or Operation with experience in Instrumentation/Control system inspection testing and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas instrumentation systems, PLCs and control systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, handling a team of technicians .
  • Problem identification & initiating changes to full implementation
  • Driving HSE performance in the project execution
  • Relevant experience in commissioning, Instrument specification, or project engineering.
  • Familiarity with commissioning tools, methodologies, and software.

Skills:
  • Instrumentation/Control System Expertise: Hands-on experience in instrumentation/control system inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of Systems: Knowledge of oil and gas instrumentation systems, PLCs, and control systems.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills, including handling a team of technicians.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability for problem identification and initiating changes to full implementation.
  • HSE Performance: Driving HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) performance in project execution.
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in commissioning, Instrument specification, or project engineering.
  • Familiarity with Tools: Familiarity with commissioning tools, methodologies, and software.
