The Opportunity:
Join the Land Communications & Specialist Systems (LCSS) SPO as a Systems Engineer supporting the delivery of next-generation Battlefield Telecommunications and Tactical Communications Networks. You'll play a key role in modernising the Australian Defence Force's deployable communication capabilities through the integration of complex systems under the Land C4 Capability System (LC4CS).
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Communications Delivery Team (CDT), you'll support the planning, acquisition, integration, and sustainment transition of key C4 systems including:
You will provide engineering governance, contribute to systems design, manage system certification, and oversee verification and testing programs. Your work will include deployable satellite systems, secure tactical radios, emerging waveforms, and system safety.

- Tactical Communications Network (TCN)
- Deployable Information Environment (DIE)
- Battlefield Management System (BMS)
You will provide engineering governance, contribute to systems design, manage system certification, and oversee verification and testing programs. Your work will include deployable satellite systems, secure tactical radios, emerging waveforms, and system safety.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Maintain engineering, verification, and certification plans within the LC4CS framework
- Provide technical input into BTN and TCN integration and sustainment strategies
- Act as Commonwealth representative during contractor testing and verification
- Support system design, risk management, and security accreditation activities
- Advise stakeholders including Army, contractors, and FIC contributors
- Ensure compliance with the Land Technical Regulatory Framework and Defence safety standards
- Collaborate closely with Land 4140 project teams and Army's Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC)
Desirable:
- Experience in deployable secure communications systems
- Previous Defence and/or CASG project experience
- Strong collaboration skills in complex stakeholder environments
