The Role
This position is responsible for developing technical training materials, operational manuals, and maintenance procedures, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity. The Technical Illustrator will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and instructional designers to produce high-quality illustrations that support training initiatives and compliance requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicating through the creation of technical illustrations and animations with a focus on training.
- Creating clear, consistent graphics for use in training material that synthesize and simplify complex systems and communicate the basic concepts of the system described.
- Illustrating processes and their controls as schematic interpretations of process and control diagrams and process flow diagrams.
- Producing cutaways of equipment based on mechanical drawings and equipment vendor material, clearly and realistically showing the equipment's components and structure.
- Depicting the location of equipment within a plant environment through the use of general arrangements or 3D cutaways animating the functions of the mechanical equipment clearly showing the principles of the equipment's operation.
- Interpreting and comprehending process and instrumentation diagrams as well as structural drawings, such as plant general arrangements, elevations, and mechanical drawings of industrial process equipment.
- Participating as a contributing member of a team, communicating effectively with these members on various tasks and projects as assigned.
- Investigating and gathering of information required to complete assignments within deadlines.
- Reporting progress to Project Manager and update progress tracking reports.
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Diploma or Certificate in technical illustration or drafting will be considered an asset
- Experience in technical illustration
- Demonstrated skill in technical design
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a project team environment.
- Proven experience using Adobe Animate, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar digital graphics software.
- Experience in video creation and editing using Adobe After Effects and Premier an asset.
- Experience using content development tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) and Adobe Captivate
- Knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript an asset.
- Experience in 3D Studio Max, Navisworks, and/or plant design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS and PDS considered a strong asset.
