Job Description Summary

As the Sr. Staff Technical Product Manager, you will lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of the Commercial Engines Services (CES) Salesforce Deal Factory. You will define and drive the technical product vision, strategy, and roadmap, partnering with product management, sales, and technical teams to deliver solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge and helps organization to gain the competitive edge.
  • Prioritize features and functionalities based on customer needs and deal requirements, creating a roadmap for technical implementation.
  • Interact with customers/stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the technology stack and impact on final product.
  • Demonstrate expert persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering teams.
  • Own the release and sprint backlogs short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.
  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.
  • Demonstrate strategic expert level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Engage frequently (50% of the time) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contribute to design activities and decisions.
  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
  • Partner with development team to ensure healthy development process.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Act as a practitioner and coach of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's proprietary Lean Operating System to accelerate deployment of strategic capabilities and value to the D&S business.
  • Provide technical leadership to TPMs across organization. Expert in Agile Methodology: Coaches others.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR associate's degree with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:
  • SaaS/PaaS Technical Support or Application Support; 2 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration and development required
  • Possess strong technical knowledge and expertise in Salesforce technologies, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud
  • Either Salesforce Admin, Sales Cloud or Service Cloud certified or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of starting
  • Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Familiarity with versatile implementation options
  • Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security

  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team. Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the competitive environment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions
