PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements/Preferences:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the design of the automation systems for lifting and handling products.
- Assist in the development of new machines, tools and processes by specifying and designing control systems, including software knowledge of Rockwell, Siemens, GE Proficy and Beckhoff TwinCat 3.
- Produce Equipment and System Documentation.
- Review contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Develop the design and functional specifications for the control systems.
- Coordinate design processes and content with customers and internal resources.
- Responsible for the interface between the hardware and the software development for the automation system.
- Responsible for the equipment to function in the desired manner including operating sequence, proportional control, video displays and safety systems.
- Knowledge of sensor technologies, control devices, motor driven control elements, types of motors, drive and/or motor characteristics, control signals, installation requirements, industry standard drawings, and HMI software products.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- Must be willing to travel. US based and International up to 25%.
- HyBrid Schedule: 3 day office and 2 days work from home
Requirements/Preferences:
- Bachelor of Science Degree - Computer Engineer / Electrical Engineer or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working with the electric drives and controls for heavy machinery.
- 5+ years of experience with PLC Programming.
- Knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal or Allen Bradley Studio/RSLogix 5000 highly preferred.
- Experience with HMI software like GE Proficy, Factorytalk View ME, WinCC preferred.
- Knowledge of Datalogging Software like OSI Pi, SIMATIC Process Historian or FactoryTalk Historian preferred.
