This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our Iraq Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Project to support an International Client operation by providing Brownfield Engineering & Design Services. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the production & assets integrity across various locations. Team of Engineers and Designers based in Basra and Dubai supports execution of these projects. Projects under this contract focuses on Flare system revamps/re-ignition, Rehab of aging assets, BTEX emission control, Flare Gas Recovery & Replacement/upgrade of obsolete equipment, piping & systems.

Job Objectives:

Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:

• Deliver piping design deliverables to meet the project plan.
• Perform layout and piping design work from the basic data and scope of work supplied in a responsible manner.
• Contribute to the development of engineering staff.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Accountability:

• Delivery of work scopes that meet client requirement, maintaining a standard professionalism with regards to deliverables. Ensuring quality assurance and HSE guidelines are maintained.

Responsibility:

• Conduct Site survey, liaise with client for scope alignment.
• Prepare project drawing and documents using appropriate software.
• Be conversant with and ensure compliance with the CAD draughting standards and procedures
• Ensure deliverables documentation masters and check prints are maintained as per project management system.
• Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all design work produced by the piping design team.
• Ensure a responsible and professional attitude towards the piping design team, participate in the guidance of design team member and share design knowledge.
• Ensure deliverables are completed within budget and within the timeline manner.
• Responsible for the integrity of all design data associated with the piping design deliverables and ensures all deliverables are checked and comply to the latest project, vendor information and management procedures.
• Ensure all the pipe design work files are maintained as per the project procedures and ensures all the
• Latest design documentation is to the latest revision.
• Liaise with Lead Piping Designer or Lead engineer to identify deliverables issues to enable an accurate project plan identifying material lead time.
• Understand the requirements of the project scope of work and deliver / produced piping deliverables as per client specification to the quality and ensure all client documentation formats are correct per asset.
• Ensure all relevant specification, codes, standards and procedure instruction from engineering are being correctly applied.
• Ensure that no work outside the original scope in undertaken without approval from the Lead Piping Designer / Lead Engineers
• Ensure all design deliverables are checked, reviewed and approved in accordance with project management procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

Mechanical, Piping (Discipline)

Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant subject)

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 7 / 8 years plus onshore oil & gas experience.

Role-Specific Skills:

• Good all-round knowledge of Piping design with Brownfield onshore experience and CAD / 3D modelling software.
• Familiar with use of Pipes specification, industry codes and standards.
• Good Oral and communication skills.
• Experience in Brownfield, Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design is required

Preferable :

• Experience of 3D modelling using Aviva E3D
• Experience of 3D model review with the help of Navisworks
• Experience of use of 'Laser Scan Data' in Aviva environment
• Understanding and Interpretation of 'Topographical Survey
