Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• HVAC Certified Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification in HVAC
• Proven knowledge in all phases of maintenance, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

REPORTS TO: Transportation and Maintenance Director

SUPERVISES: Maintenance Helper

JOB GOAL: To help maintain the physical school plants in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

All general maintenance, including but not limited to the following:

• HVAC repairs and replacement primary responsibility
• Assumes responsibility for determining the proper approach in making repairs
• Plumbing repairs and replacement
• Electrical repairs and replacement
• Carpentry repairs
• Construction projects
• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation and Maintenance Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of employment shall be consistent with the law relating to employment by a school system in the State of Alabama. Twelve-month year, with a salary scale established by the Board for this position.

EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
