The Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee the execution of civil maintenance and brownfield projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and reliability of plant infrastructure, contributing to optimal production performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

To contribute to excellence in service delivery to the client through:
  • Supervise and coordinate civil maintenance and construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Plan and execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, minimising downtime and maximising equipment availability
  • Lead and mentor a team of tradespeople and contractors, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify maintenance needs and implement effective solutions
  • Manage budgets, including forecasting and cost control, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Utilise management systems to schedule work, track progress, and maintain accurate records
  • Ensuring duties are performed in line with both Wood's and the clients' HSE programs
  • Delivering against contract KPI's and business objectives
  • Liaise with engineering and production teams to scope, plan, and execute maintenance and upgrade works with minimal operational disruption

Ideally you will have:
  • Tarde qualification in civil construction or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in civil maintenance within heavy industry environments such as aluminium smelting, mining, oil & gas.
  • Proven leadership experience in supervising multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative, high-performing and client-oriented culture of safety, continuous improvement and effectively lead clients' workforce to support delivery of the contract's strategic objectives
  • Understand, work to and ensure the compliance with the clients' Permit to Work System
  • Ensure all SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements) are developed, reviewed and understood and all associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed
  • Ensure timely resolution of safety issues and provide communication and consultation of safety related matters with work teams
  • Lead & participate in investigations and implementation of assigned actions and communicating team incidents/ lessons learned at weekly site safety meeting
  • Maintain a zero tolerance for unsafe acts or behaviours and implement and deliver the Just and fair culture process as required
  • Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within the area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance Wood and clients' requirements
  • Direct and assign the appropriate resources to complete tasks to ensure delivery of quality work and to avoid rework
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Excel) and requirement to time write accurately
