JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is looking to hire a Team Leader as a focal point for specialist engineering services in Atyrau. This person will be a 'seller-doer' who is able to assist with business development and deliver specialist engineering work in conjunction with Wood's global resource capabilities.
An individual with a technical background in conventional O&G operational integrity management / maintenance will be preferred, but not strictly required. This is a full-time position based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. This position is open to both nationals and international candidates & knowledge of the local market is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary focal point for our growing specialist services offering in Kazakstan
- Assist with local business development with our major clients and the winning of work
- Assist the local and global tendering teams with creation of 'Cost, Time, Resource' (CTR) quotations and the writing of technical proposals
- Accountable for the planning, resourcing and execution of the various consultancy workscopes utilising both local and global resources
- Performs the work in a 'team lead' or 'Senior Engineer' capacity within their specialist areas. For example, in the area of conventional O&G Integrity Management
- Assist the project manager with budgeting, intercompany agreements and invoicing
- Interfacing with in-country stakeholders (Client/Wood/Other 3rd parties) for smooth technical delivery and to aid efficient cost management
- Assists with the establishment of local delivery team, including resourcing, recruitment, interviewing and onboarding
- Laison with support functions including but not limited to Planning, Cost Control, HR, Finance and HSEQ
- Builds strong working relationships across all stakeholders within client organisation to ensure that their needs are fully understood and expectations are appropriately managed
- Provides support as required to audits e.g. verification, client, internal, etc. If applicable carry out periodic site audits e.g. Management visits
- Assist with urgent issues which may arise out of hours
- Supports the Nationalization programme
- Ensure that company policies, procedures and controls are adhered to at all times, & assists with maintaining compliance with local authority requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

- Ability to provide leadership, co-ordination & guidance to others
- Experienced in the implementation of industry best practices and Company's systems, processes and standards
- Proven ability to apply sound judgment and analytical skills due to the complex and diversified nature of the position
- Established skills in management and leadership, team building, effective communication, conflict resolution and presentations
- Fluent in English and Kazakh (preferred but not mandatory)
Qualifications (Desired):
- Engineering Degree with 5+ years of practical experience in oil and gas sector
- Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in an O&G operational integrity management / maintenance environment
