As a Pipefitter at Polk Mechanical, you'll play a key role in assembling and installing mechanical piping systems. You'll interpret blueprints and specifications, install piping for a variety of systems, and ensure everything is built to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and manufacturer specifications.
• Assemble and install pipe systems, supports, and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Install piping for steam, heating, cooling, and industrial systems.
• Select appropriate pipe types and materials based on job specs.
• Inspect worksites and plan installations to avoid obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
• Join piping using various methods: threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented.
• Secure pipes using clamps, brackets, and hangers.
• Install and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Test systems for leaks and ensure proper function.
• Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel.

Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical and HVAC pipefitting required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient with cutting, bending, and welding tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Journeyman-level experience or equivalent training (4+ years).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of trade mathematics and safety practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Navigate uneven terrain and work at heights.
• Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
• Work in confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and walking long distances.
