We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Pipefitter to support our team on commercial construction projects in the installation of piping systems in environments such as colleges, office buildings, warehouses, and light manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical applications under the supervision of experienced pipefitters.
  • Support installation of systems including chilled water, heating hot water, and compressed air.
  • Work from blueprints and mechanical drawings with guidance and support.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas on job sites.
  • Test piping systems for leaks by applying pressure and monitoring gauges.
  • Perform welding and pipefitting using proper tools and techniques.
  • Learn and participate in the safe and efficient handling, loading, unloading, and preparation of pipes, fittings, valves, and other related materials.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Interest in learning the mechanical trades and growing within the construction industry.
  • Possess good physical stamina and the capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including safely lifting and carrying heavy materials, working in various positions, and potentially in confined spaces.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous exposure to commercial construction or mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of different pipe materials and their applications.
