As a Pipefitter, you'll be a vital part of our success, responsible for the precise assembly and installation of complex mechanical piping and equipment. Your work will span a wide variety of systems, including steam, heating, cooling, industrial production, and processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules, and manufacturer's specifications for mechanical piping and equipment with expert precision.
- Material Selection: Select the correct type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
- Site Inspection & Planning: Inspect worksites to identify obstructions and ensure structural integrity. Plan installation sequences to seamlessly avoid obstructions and integrate with other construction activities.
- Piping Assembly & Joining: Assemble and install diverse metal and nonmetal pipes and fittings (brass, copper, lead, glass, plastic). Utilize various joining techniques including threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secure Installation: Expertly secure pipes to structures using clamps, brackets, and hangers, ensuring stability and safety.
- HVAC/R System Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain critical refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and associated piping.
- Leak Testing: Perform thorough pressure tests on piping systems to detect and pinpoint leaks.
- Advanced Welding: Weld aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel, demonstrating versatility in MIG, TIG, and stick welding methods.
What You'll Bring:
- Industry Experience: Minimum of four years of training experience in the practical installation of related systems and usage of tools, or completion of an approved apprenticeship. Experience with pipefitting in the Mechanical and HVAC Industry is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of trades, mathematics and communication. Familiarity with cutting, bending, and welding tools and techniques.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to interpret plans and specifications and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Precision & Accuracy: Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting & Carrying: Safely lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Mobility: Traversing uneven ground conditions while maintaining balance.
- Working at Heights: Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, and comfortably working at various heights.
- Physical Agility: Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and walking significant distances.
- Environmental Adaptability: Working effectively within extreme temperature and humidity ranges, and in confined or tight spaces.
