- Translating data into actionable insights for traders and senior management-including COMEX members
- Exploring business opportunities through quantitative strategy
Activities
Strategic Vision & Alignment
- Define and execute the US Q&TA team's strategy to enhance the profitability and competitiveness of the Trading Gas and Trading Power BUs.
- Ensure strategic cohesion by aligning objectives with the broader global Q&TA strategy and integrating seamlessly across functions and geographies.
- Lead data-driven decision-making to identify, validate, and scale monetizable trading opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and cultivate a high-performing multidisciplinary team of market fundamentals experts, data scientists, quants, and meteorologists.
- Drive a culture of excellence and agility in a fast-paced, complex trading environment by promoting collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Ensure purposeful delegation with clear, measurable objectives tailored to the needs of trading desks and long-term growth strategies.
Analytics, Modeling & Innovation
- Oversee the development and deployment of advanced quantitative models, including AI/ML-driven predictions, pricing tools, and market fundamentals simulations.
- Ensure robustness and integrity in the design, validation, and deployment of analytical tools, maintaining best practices in modeling governance.
- Champion innovation by leading initiatives to digitize and automate trading workflows, including the creation of algorithmic trading strategies.
Cross-Functional Synergy
- Forge strong partnerships with Risk, Finance, IT, and other supporting units to ensure alignment and effective integration of Q&TA insights.
- Collaborate closely with GRP entities (especially FPI and REN) and ATMI analytics teams to share knowledge and co-develop analytical frameworks.
Talent Strategy
- Actively manage talent pipelines to attract, retain, and develop individuals with unique skill sets that enrich Trading's analytical and operational edge.
- Ensure resource adaptability to meet the evolving needs of trading desks and future business growth.
Thought Leadership & Executive Engagement
- Serve as the in-house expert on US market modeling and trading analytics, supporting both tactical and strategic initiatives across the enterprise.
- Act as the reference point for GRP, TS, EP, and RC on US market insights and quant innovations.
- Deliver regular insights to senior leaders and COMEX members on market shifts, strategic risks, and emerging opportunities.

Candidate Profile
Education / Experience
- Masters degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering or other Mathematical subject
- 10 to 15 years of experience, predominantly spent in an energy trading environment, including proven experience in positions with a highly quantitative analysis component.
- Proven knowledge of US power and natural gas markets.
- Managerial skills, including the ability to foster a high-performing culture, mentor team members, and conduct performance reviews.
