Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty forklifts (typically 15,000 lbs. capacity or more) to load, unload, transport, and stack various sizes of pipe.
- Safely move pipe to and from trucks, storage racks, and designated areas using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Inspect forklifts before each use and perform routine maintenance checks; report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Ensure proper handling to prevent damage to materials, equipment, or personnel.
- Follow yard layout and inventory plans to organize and store pipe efficiently.
- Collaborate with yard supervisors, logistics personnel, and other forklift operators to ensure smooth workflow.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Accurately complete paperwork, load tickets, and inventory logs as required.
Work Environment
- Outdoor yard environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and noisy environments.
- May involve extended periods of sitting, standing, and operating machinery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid Driver License
- Strong understanding of load balancing, rigging principles, and forklift capacity limits.
- Ability to read and understand load sheets, yard maps, and safety procedures.
- Physical ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift or maneuver heavy materials.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe operation at all times.
