- Responsible for the overall Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E), Work-In-Progress (CWIP) and Fixed Assets accounting and reporting in accordance with IFRS including capitalization of project analysis and tracking, amortization & deprecation and assets retirement in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure the integrity of the data in the fixed asset module of SAP.
- Ensure monthly, interim and annual closing activities as assigned in relation to fixed assets.
- Conduct and participate in annual Physical Fixed Assets (incl. inventory).
- Develops and implements Financial Performance policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
- Responsible to develop, implement and maintain the Cost Control tools and methodology
- Building KPIs, risk management, influencing change, drive improvements to manage performance which includes forecasts and reviews, ongoing business performance monitoring, reporting, analysis and insights.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions in the fixed asset systems and general ledger accounts and apply analytical review to results to ensure transactions are properly recorded in the accounting systems in accordance with company policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure completion of month end closing activities related to fixed assets such as settlement of project cost to AUC, capitalization of AUC to FA, assets disposal/retirement and depreciation runs. Monitor account balances at month end and ensure that FA account reconciliations properly supported.
- Ensure that all assets are physically tagged and properly maintain in the Fixed Assets Register (FAR) including maintenance & action on Asset Disposal Forms (ADF's).
- Conduct and participate in annual Physical Fixed Assets (incl. inventory) verification process in collaboration with in-country finance operations, auditors and host government representatives.
- Provide actual monthly variance analysis (Y-o-Y) for management reporting purposes.
- Provide resolution to internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries from external auditors and internal audit.
- Responsible for cost analysis, cost controls and reporting activities. Perform detailed cost analysis to identify variances and potential cost control & saving opportunities. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years oil and gas industry finance and accounting experience, 2 years in a supervisor capacity.
