The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of utility-scale solar projects, including project planning, budgeting, buyout, project controls/reporting, scheduling, and risk management. The Project Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external teams, providing both leadership and technical expertise to ensure the successful execution of projects. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all technical, commercial, safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage projects through all phases, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion.
• Lead coordination with stakeholders including client representatives, internal departments (Pre-Construction, Engineering, EH&S, QAQC and Compliance), subcontractors, and other project team members.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Manage and track project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with all requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and approval of project execution plans and project schedules.
• Monitor and control subcontractor costs, schedules, and progress to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Review and understand multi-trade construction drawings and specifications across various disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical).
• Identify potential project issues proactively and work toward mitigation strategies impacting safety, construction, schedule, and cost.
• Perform change management and ensure contracts are executed in compliance with agreed-upon terms and obligations.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Pre-Construction, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Legal, and Field Construction managers to drive project execution.
• Assist Site Managers in resolving specific project issues and requests, ensuring effective project execution at the field level.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
GENERAL
• 2-4 years of related experience in solar utility-scale projects, with a focus on full project lifecycle development. Battery storage experience is a plus.
• Strong project management skills, including budget adherence and cost control measures.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) & Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) software applications.
• Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts, techniques, and software (e.g., MS Project).
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to review and understand multi-trade construction drawings and specifications, as well as knowledge of best practices across various construction disciplines.
• Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to manage complex tasks, with occasional guidance in certain aspects of the work.
PHYSICAL
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds for short periods of time.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time for the purpose of overseeing or inspecting work progress or site conditions.
• Ability to walk and/or stand on uneven and potentially slippery terrain.
• Ability to kneel, squat, reach, climb, etc., as necessary to perform required job functions such as conducting inspections, making corrective repairs, taking photos, etc.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or
• 5 years of project management experience with increasing responsibility in a relevant field.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Master's degree in a relevant field or project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management
