Project: ITER Nuclear Fusion Reactor (France).
Responsabilities:
The Nuclear Safety Engineer's job purpose is to:
• Organize and maintain the Nuclear Safety and Management system and supervise its application at all levels
of the company
• Provide support to the teams in order to apply processes and procedures
The Nuclear Safety Engineer is responsible for:
• Mastering the content of the Nuclear Safety Control Plan
• Guaranteeing the conformity of the activities with the various Nuclear Safety requirements
• Assessing Contractors' Nuclear Safety Control Plan and design or works from a Nuclear Safety point of view
• Producing PIC component lists and other relevant matrices consolidating Nuclear Safety requirements for
implementation by the Contractors
• Establishing, implementing and updating the Nuclear Safety procedures, if required
• Supporting the management of ASN or other French authorities' inspections
• Developing Nuclear Safety Culture training courses
• Managing the Nuclear Safety requirements in compliance with the French Order
• Participating in Nuclear Operators experience feedback Group managed by the Client
• Knowing ITER Codes, norms and standards per trade
• Reporting to Nuclear Safety & Quality Manager
Required education:
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Required additional training:
Including, if possible, additional training in Nuclear Safety, HSE and Risks Management.
Required profesional experience:
At least 8 years' experience in the nuclear field (recognition of nuclear safety knowledge in thenuclear field)
• Spoken communication skills: listening, ability to present ideas in a clear way and convince, empathy, ability
to understand and take into account constraints of others
• Written communication skills: ability to draft procedures and letters in a clear and factual manner
• Ability to make decisions and analyze proposals
• Nuclear Safety culture: questioning and learning attitude, eager to transmit safety culture
• Quality culture: questioning and learning attitude, eager to transmit quality culture
Languages:
English compulsory.
French is an advantage.
