Join NOV's global IT team as a Jira System Administrator supporting enterprise Atlassian environments. In this role, you will manage and optimize Jira and Confluence platforms across Data Center and Cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and secure integrations.
You will work closely with global teams to support collaboration tools, improve system reliability, and implement automation and governance best practices.

Important:
- This is a hands-on technical role focused on administering Atlassian platforms.
- This is NOT a project management or Jira user role.
- Only candidates currently based in Monterrey and the metropolitan area will be considered.
- No relocation support is provided.

Join NOV's global IT team as a Jira System Administrator supporting enterprise Atlassian environments. In this role, you will manage and optimize Jira and Confluence platforms across Data Center and Cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and secure integrations.
You will work closely with global teams to support collaboration tools, improve system reliability, and implement automation and governance best practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Administer Jira and Confluence Data Center environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Manage Jira Cloud environments, including user access, permissions, and Atlassian Access (SSO, domain verification).
- Configure and maintain PostgreSQL databases (backups, upgrades, performance tuning).
- Support containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Rancher, or similar tools.
- Monitor system performance using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues using logs and diagnostics.
- Manage plug-ins, integrations, and system upgrades with minimal disruption.
- Configure workflows, permissions, and project-level settings in Jira.
- Administer Jira Assets (Insight) for asset management and CMDB-related use cases.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and provide training to internal users.
- Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives across Atlassian platforms.
Required experience:
- 3-5 years of experience administering Jira and Confluence in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Data Center and/or Jira Cloud administration.
- Experience with Linux administration and basic scripting (Bash or similar).
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (queries, backups, performance tuning).
- Experience working with Docker and/or Kubernetes environments.
- Experience managing Jira workflows, permissions, and configurations.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Strong English communication skills (daily interaction with global teams).
Preferred:
- Experience with Jira Assets (Insight) or CMDB-related tools.
- Experience with Atlassian Access (SSO, identity management).
- Atlassian certifications (ACP or similar).
- Experience with automation or API integrations.
