Overview

We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Operator for assignment in Little River-Academy, Texas. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to the operations and maintenance of a water wastewater treatment plant, wastewater collection system and water distribution system on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

** This position has a pay rate of $20 - $22/hr **

** This position may have an on-call schedule **

** This position requires a Water or Wastewater Operator License or an Operator-in-Training Certification **

Responsibilities

- Equipment maintenance

- Quality control testing

- Report compilation and assisting in keeping maintenance work order records

- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

- Diagnose operating problems

- Monitor and control adjustments

- Determine proper rates in the treatment facilities to manage the flow and processing of wastewater, sludge and effluent

- Collect samples

- Maintain shift logs

- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on live water main distribution lines

- Conducting plumbing repairs on lines up to 6"

- Replacing valves and installing clamps as needed

- Lubricate equipment and checking for malfunctions

- Replace packing in pumps or valves

- Replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment

- Cleaning out/jetting lines and performing other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks

- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- A Water or Wastewater Treatment License or an Operator-in-Training Certification

- 1+ years experience operating water/wastewater treatment facilities
