We are seeking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Expatriate Tax Analyst to join our Finance Shared Services team in Manila. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the compensation tax reporting and compliance for expatriates to and from the United States of America (US).

There are two Chevron companies operating in the Philippines: Chevron Holdings Incorporated (CHI) and Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI).

CHI is a shared services center providing transactional, processing, and consulting services in the areas of finance and accounting, information technology, supply chain management, human resources, downstream customer service and marketing. Established in 1998, CHI serves Chevron affiliates in six continents around the world. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the leading members of the shared services industry in the Philippines.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a US Payroll Tax Analyst. This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on US taxation for expatriates and international assignments, providing strategic guidance and insights for assignments from the US to other countries and vice versa.
  • Conducts in-depth research and analysis of US tax implications related to international assignments, offering expert recommendations and solutions.
  • Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of expatriate taxable income and tax elections with US tax rules and company policies through meticulous analysis and validation.
  • Oversee complex taxable income reconciliations, year-end tax processes, and tax equalizations for US expatriates, ensuring precision and compliance.
  • Utilizes expert knowledge to manage expatriate population data, collaborating with external tax service providers to address sophisticated inquiries.
  • Coordinates with internal departments and external partners to ensure the accurate and timely execution of expatriate tax activities, leveraging expert communication and collaboration skills.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments in US tax legislation and best practices applicable to expatriates, providing strategic updates and recommendations.
  • Identify and implement advanced process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in expatriate tax activities.
  • Leads payroll audits, providing expert analysis and supporting documentation to ensure thorough and accurate audit processes.

About You

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge in U.S. Federal and State taxation for expatriates and IRS regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience on US expatriate taxation.
  • Good understanding of internal financial controls and data privacy policies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interest and ability to learn new systems and tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with system such as Workday, AssignmentPro, and Alteryx is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools to automate manual processes.
