Develop and maintain corporate standards, procedures and guidelines for Business
Continuity, in accordance with legislative requirements, international standards and
best practices to ensure QP’s ability to continue the delivery of products and services
within acceptable time frames at predefined capacity during a disruption.
Develop, maintain and improve the business continuity management system (BCMS)
to ensure timely and effective responses to business disruptions.
Provide leadership, subject matter expertise and guidance during (but not limited to)
audits, incidents and complex investigations to identify whether business continuity
management requirements are implemented, and to identify areas of improvements.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Core Business and Support Services
Directorates/Departments to ensure development of effective business continuity plans
(BCPs) for critical process/activities and assets, their testing and govern their
implementation.
Provide technical expertise and advice during emergency response or crisis
management activities to minimize impact of a major event on business continuity on
QP health, safety, environment, assets and reputation.
Participate in QP strategic planning and project management activities to ensure
conformity with legal, international standards and corporate requirements, to identify
improvement opportunities in organizational resilience and business continuity
capabilities.
Carry out identification and sharing of lessons learned and best practices by means of
appropriate internal/external forums and information sharing systems to improve QP’s
business continuity capabilities.
Lead the review of new and emerging technologies and approaches related to business
continuity, carry out horizon scanning to identify emerging threats and new risks to
business continuity.
Optimize and manage resources by assigning responsibilities and overseeing
outcomes to ensure the effective execution of the section’s business plan.
Develop and mentor own staff by identifying development opportunities, providing
constructive feedback and coaching individuals to facilitate career development and
the establishment of the HSEQ team at QP.
