Job Description

Atkins are looking to recruit innovative architects and designers to be part of our Birmingham team based in Midlands, South West & Wales Regional architectural practice.

Midlands, South West and Wales region includes 4 offices Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. We have over 100 architectural staff across our offices with a particular expertise in Education, Commercial, Energy, Defence and Residential. Architectural staff include Architects, Architectural technologists, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects and Building Surveying professionals with a balanced team of graduates through to senior professionals and directors. People are the heart of our success and supporting, training and mentoring our staff is paramount to Atkins remaining at the forefront of design and innovation.
Atkins Architects are very interested in harnessing the creative power of individuals who would like to be involved in exciting projects with the company.
We strongly encourage and offer support to individuals through either their post Part I and Part II placement. Our mentoring schemes are there to offer a work environment where personal and professional growth is possible. Our mentors have a wide level of experience that can be beneficial to all new starters.
Requirements:
  • This role requires a recognized Part I or II qualification and the ability to work within a team to produce detailed 2D and 3D design drawings, concept sketches and presentation graphics. Self-motivated and committed individuals who can not only be clear thinkers but can also be a strong team player with a willingness to learn and improve is the key.
  • We are looking for individuals who can consistently contribute to the successful delivery of a complex, small, medium and large-scale project. Consistency and accuracy in all work produced is highly desired for this role.
  • Highly computer literate, skilled in Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite applications.
  • Excellent presentational and communicational skills both verbally and visually using software and hand drawing skills.
  • Ability to work within a team effectively and deliver tight deadlines on time and on budget.
  • The personal qualities required from the applying candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organised and efficient with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work with a positive and 'can-do' attitude, flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player.
