We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Accountant to join our Lisbon office on a 12-month contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a global leader in offshore engineering while gaining hands-on experience in financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist with the month end closing process and preparation of the financial statements.
  • Preparation, review and posting accounting transactions in SAP and Primavera system.
  • Preparing the monthly VAT declarations and annual corporate income tax return.
  • Issued the monthly billing in Primavera.
  • Preparing the monthly SAFT file for invoicing.
  • Assis with the preparation of the year-end financial statements and support the external auditors.
  • Manage the accounts payables, supporting the FRC-AP team.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of the quarterly financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Support with ad-hoc analysis.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances.
  • Prepare the bank reconciliations.
  • Support the accounting and tax Teams answering queries.
  • Preparing the monthly report to the central bank (COPE)
  • Compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and ensuring financial controls objectives are met within deadlines set.
  • Support the development of new way of work arising from the implementation of the new SAP/4 HANA.


What experience would we like you to have?

  • Degree, or equivalent, in finance or accounting.
  • Experience in the role of 3 to 5 years.
  • Excellent knowledge of SNC and IFRS.
  • Ability to deliver multiple tasks on tight deadlines.
  • Good written & oral communication skills in English.
  • Pro-active and positive to changes and challenges.
  • Good tax knowledge, namely VAT, IRC.
  • Good knowledge of Primavera and SAP.
  • Excellent level of Excel.
  • Analytical mindset, meticulous to details and organized.
