This position is created to perform all welding and pipefitting work associated with HVAC gas piping and hydronic piping installations as required by plans, specifications, and field conditions. Work must be completed with a high standard of quality and in full compliance with Local, State, and Federal code guidelines. This position will also support piping system repairs and maintenance, with or without plans, as directed by clients, project managers, or supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Welds HVAC gas piping and hydronic piping systems using MIG, TIG, and Stick techniques, ensuring code-compliant and pressure-tested results.
• Follows layouts, blueprints, and isometric drawings to ensure installations are accurate and cost-effective.
• Performs field measurements and pipe layout, cuts and fits pipe and tubing with precision.
• Communicates clearly with supervisors about installation issues, delays, and site-specific challenges.
• Coordinates with other trades and team members to maintain schedule and quality control.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area; ensures tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
• Adheres to all company safety protocols and participates in safety training.
• Accurately tracks time worked and materials used
• Acts professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors at all times.
• Actively engages in professional growth by learning new methods and materials related to pipe welding and fabrication.

Skills & Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification preferred (ASME, AWS, or equivalent).

Experience & Licenses

• Minimum 5 years of experience welding in HVAC piping systems (gas and hydronic).
• Proficient in reading blueprints and pipe diagrams.
• Valid Indiana driver's license required.

Physical

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and squatting.
• Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts at various heights.
• Able to work in confined spaces such as tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics.
• Must maintain body weight to comply with safe operation of tools and equipment.
