DG BOSS: Warehouseman
- Maintains a high degree of efficiency in receiving merchandise against contract, requisition, shipping documents, and processing issues.
- Follows approved methods and techniques of storing and issuing items.
- Complies with the principles of fire and safety regulations and material handling.
- Performs offloading and receipt of Ship's Store merchandise.
- Picks-up and receive parcel post shipments.
- Verifies quantities of merchandise received against contracts, purchase requests, requisitions, and shipping documents.
- Inspects condition of merchandise, compares merchandise with procurement specifications for catalogs/post numbers, description, and unit of issue.
- Pulls and assembles merchandise from transportation sources, checking total price count against source documents.
- Segregates incoming receipts by requisition number.
- Annotates invoice/packing list for any discrepancy.
- Assembles pallet/loads in such a manner to facilitate inventory, dated item controls, and merchandise pulling.
- Maintains merchandise in a state of readiness for inventory at all times.
- Prepares merchandise for a breakout against NAVSUP Form 973.
- Observes First in First out (FIFO) procedures in pulling out merchandise.
- Conducts physical inventory IAW NAVSUP P-487 to prevent overstocking or lack of inventory.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment in the performance of their duties (e.g., safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and hardhats).
- Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Physical strength, capacity, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as stand and move around.
- Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
- Must read, write, and speak adequately in English.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have valid and obtain a valid Professional Driver's License with Restriction Code (at least 2,3).
- Must have valid and obtain a valid MHE and Forklift License.
EDUCATION:
- Must have at least a high school diploma, technical or vocational course graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least a minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehousing operations with U.S. Military Installation in Navy Supply System (NAVSUPP) and/or equivalent civilian experience.
